Basic directions for adoption of Unifi products to remote controller
- Install devices and make sure all are reset to factory defaults
- Login to controller and create new site
- LastName, FirstName

- change Gateway/Subnet to 10.0.XX.1/24
- xx = random 2 or 3 digit number
- Update DHCP range and modify to 100 – 250
- no Unifi router
- set to current subnet of existing router

- Wireless Networks
- create new wireless network
- WPA Personal
- rest of settings can be default for now
- create new wireless network
- Adoption – If Unifi router is installed the job is much easier as once the router is adopted the other devices will show up in the controller
- Router adoption
- gateway address
- windows key + r –> cmd
- ipconfig –> find router address
- Use putty to log into router – ubnt ubnt

- Adopt router in controller
- Send set-inform a second time
- Once router in controller the other devices will show up and you can adopt all by the web page
- Adoption without router
- use lan scanning tool to find IP address of device
- putty into device using credentials of ubnt ubnt

- adopt device in controller making sure you’re in the correct site
- send set-inform command a second time through putty
